InTune Music Windsor has been part of Windsor’s music community since September 2013. Its early years were shaped by previous owner Joanna Henderin (née Shultz), who studied music therapy alongside current owner Rebecca Goldstein.
Rebecca joined the InTune teaching team a few years later and eventually became owner, building on that foundation while expanding the school’s focus on inclusive music education, creative community, mentorship and opportunities to make music beyond the lesson room.
More than a decade later, InTune has grown into an award-winning music school where children, teens and adults can develop their skills, build meaningful relationships and find their own ways to make music part of their lives.
Making Music a Part of Your Life
We don’t believe there is one right outcome from music lessons. Some students work toward exams, university programs and professional performance.
Others want to play in a band, sing with friends, return to an instrument they loved years ago, or simply have something creative in their week.
What matters to us is helping people build the skills, confidence and independence to keep music in their lives in a way that is meaningful to them.
Building a Creative Community
Connected to Windsor-Essex
InTune students, instructors and leadership have shared music throughout Windsor-Essex — in cafés, churches, long-term-care homes, festivals, theatres, professional concert venues and community events.
Our connections span music, education, theatre, health care and community arts, including collaborations with local performers, educators, Windsor Symphony musicians and organizations throughout the region.
Growing Musicians, Teachers & Professionals
InTune creates opportunities for young people to grow beyond the lesson room. Through our involvement with New Beginnings’ CareerWise program, we have hired and trained more than six young people through paid placements, employment and job training.
We also support current and former students through mentorship, volunteer hours, references and employment. Some students have even gone on to become InTune instructors and members of our team.
Creating What Comes Next
In 2025, Rebecca received funding through the City of Windsor’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund for The Cosmos Between Us, an original music-theatre production being developed with local writer Rebecca Hooker.
The project reflects the kind of collaboration InTune hopes to keep fostering — bringing together musicians, writers, educators, artists and community partners to create new opportunities in Windsor-Essex.
