Joanna Shultz and Rachael Watson Collaborate on Music + Art Summer Camps at InTune!
It all started twenty-two years ago. As young kids, our parents swapped us out for different lessons: Rachael and her sister for piano lessons from Joanna’s mom, and Joanna and her sister for art lessons from Rachael’s mom. This music-art tandem began a life-long creative friendship, of which is still going strong today!
Being exposed to music and art from a young age influenced both of us greatly. Not only did it affect our friendship growing up (as we spent endless hours playing piano and games together) but it eventually led us to to studying music and art respectively in university. For the first time we are bringing our creative skills together to give other kids a great combined music and art experience, in the form of three day camps this summer at InTune Windsor.
We are so excited to bring these unique programs to the Windsor-Essex community. First up is our camp called “Express Yourself” for kids ages 7–11, where we’ll be exploring themes that are really influential to us in our individual practices. During this camp, we’ll be making our own art materials, storytelling, collaging, creating response-based art, doing group musical improvisations, and much more! It will be a great opportunity for kids to get creative in new and fun ways through improvisation and experimentation. You can find more information about this camp and the others by clicking here.
